It is agreat idea to to purchase a congo tourist visa to make it more easier and attractive financially for the tourists to be able visit congo.
Congo tourist visa is a must have to all tourists to the Democratic Republic of Congo and can only be obtained from one of the Democratic Republic of Congo diplomatic missions, unless the the visitor comes from an exempt country with no embassy, in which case they can also obtain a visa confirmation followed by a 7-day visa on arrival. It is possible to arrange a tourist visa for visiting the Virunga national park through the park itself.
For all the tourists requiring avisa need have to submit a legalised letter of invitation from a DRC person or organization. A hotel booking confirmation is accepted in case the travelers have contact ( recommended only for tourists).
Other natipnals arriving from acountry without the the DRC embassy can apply for avisa confirmation in that a letter of request is sent via the email to the direction Genarale de migration with aphotocopy of the passport of the applicant and the inviting person/organization. A confirmation will then be sent to the applicant which is then used to obtain avisa on arrival, valid for 7-days and extendable in the DRC.
Since Virunga National Park is steadily progressing in the tourism industry, the government has also joined forces and allowed the park to act as a facilitator in the visa process.Local tour operators can as well facilitate the process.
Visa requirements for Democratic Republic of Congo
1.Two fully completed visa application forms
Hand over two copies of the visa application form, print, fill out completely and sign.Failure to fill some blank portions of the visa application form,will result in delay of your visa approval process.
2.Two passport colored photographs
The photos should measure 2x2inches, clores with awhite background showing a full front view of the face, and muat have been taken within the last six months to reflect the current appearance.
3.Valid passport
The passport must be valid for the next 6 months
4.Invitation letter or hotel reservation (For the tourist visa)
A typewritten and notarized invitation letter ( notarized at the City council or Prefecture/Mairie) that states the nature of the trip, the name and address of a reference to be visited in the Republic of Congo. The invitation letter must be addressed to the Embassy of the Republic of Congo, Visa section and should be at least 3 months ( 90 Days) valid.
5.Copy of airline tickets or itinerary
Issue acopy of your airline ticket showing your arrival and departure dates from your airline or travel agent in the Republic of Congo,-which is mandatory( do not purchase the tickets until the visa has been issued).
6.A prepaid envelope
A prepaid USPS, UPS or Fedex envelope with a TRACKING NUMBER to allow for the return of your passport. Unfortunately, the Embassy is no longer able to accept any prepaid envelopes without any tracking number. Canadian Postal Prepaid Envelopes or Mexican Postal Prepaid envelopes are not accepted under any circumstances.
7.Visa Fees
The Congolese Wildlife authority,ICCN, has an agreement with the Direction Generale de Migration(DGM), The Congolese immigration service to facilitate obtaining 2 weeks.single entry tourist visas for people visiting Virunga national Park. A sum of 105 USD is required for the visa.
To qualify for atiurist visa,first purchase amountain gorilla trek permit,Nyiragongo trek permit or book and pay for accommodation at Mikeno lodge, all these are non refundable.
You will receive an order number once you have made your booking and received a confirmation of the payment, proceed to the online visa application, enter you order number at the top of the form, fill in the remaining fields and click submit.Make sure to secure any other visas that you will need on your way to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
